On 6/8/09 Anonymous said... Manager/Salesperson, Ed: Very impersonable, was somewhat knowledgeable but came across as very conceited. Acted as though our project was not worth his time. Did not speak much or give alot of information. Staff: Overall did a nice job on our patio+planting. However got at the job early (7am!) which woke our elderly neighbors and didn't leave each night until nearly 6pm. Very irritable, and always complained of being overworked, I actually began to feel sorry for them. Overall I cannot recommend this company. The job was satisfactory but I had work done by another firm the following year and it was much better and the entire staff was much more personable, helpful, and the workmanship was better. I have to believe that if the men at Gallivans werent worked so hard they would have done a better job

On 6/8/09 Unhappy customer said... OK job overall. As poster below noted, very irritable staff. Always seemed bothered when asked questions. Workmanship was not on par with what the estimator, Ed, led me to believe. started early, ended late, which was irritating w/ the loud tools.

On 6/8/09 unsatisfied said... workmanship poor. spilled gasoline in my lawn, burned the grass. when i called to have it fixed, ed told me that it never occurred, eventually the lawn was fixed but after a long drawn out affair. laborers seemed to hate their jobs, hate being bothered. entire staff very impersonable. many of the plants they supplied (rhododendrons, maple, pines) died after one season. needless to say i hired someone else!

On 6/8/09 embarassed said... the workmanship was poor. workers stained existing patio with mulch. gallivan corp refused to fund the cleaning. when one worker was 'caught' taking a break late in day (had been there 9 hrs) the manager showed up and sent him home for the day. they argued on my front lawn for about 10 minutes while my neighbors looked on as the arrived home from work. i asked them to leave, i am embarassed to have hired such an outfit. they finished the job but i will never rehire this company ever again

On 6/8/09 lawn mow said... i am very particular about my lawn. but when i hired gallivans i was assured they stood by their quality and were the best in the business. i was expecting straight mow lines in my lawn and the grass to be well trimmed around my flower beds. the mow lines were anything but straight, and the grass around all the mulch bed was burned down to the ground by the trimmers. when i called to report my dissatisfaction a man named 'ed' spoke to me incredulously as if i had no business being dissatisfied. very rude. i didn't even allow the company to finish the season mowing my yard.
